There is something profoundly poetic about releasing a wine in the spring.
As the vines awaken here in the Willamette Valley with buds breaking, energy returning, the promise of a new vintage just beginning, we find ourselves opening a bottle that has already completed its journey. A wine born of a past harvest, shaped by time, patience, and quiet evolution.
This year marks Retour’s 21st Anniversary, and I feel that contrast more deeply than ever.
Twenty-one years ago, Retour began with a belief: that great wine is not simply just made. It is guided, stewarded, and ultimately revealed over time. What has unfolded since has far exceeded anything I could have imagined, and it is because of you. Your loyalty, your trust, and your shared passion for what we are building together have made this journey not only possible, but profoundly meaningful.
From harvest celebrations to intimate dinners, from Oregon to cities across the country, the moments we’ve shared are the true legacy of Retour. I carry immense gratitude for each of them, and for you.
It is such an honor to continually offer a wine that matters. A wine that has purpose, a wine that shares the history and soul of this glorious place. It is powerful, focused, balanced and supple with gorgeous acidity and fine integrated tannins that lead to a persistent and spicy finish. I hope you will have the opportunity to enjoy this extremely rare wine.
